Last day!!

So the job I decided to accept in October is a seasonal job. So you work the winter months and have the summers off, where in which you can collect unemployment. And today is my LAST DAY!! I am so excited!! I can't wait to have some alone time with Karli before the baby arrives. I have LOTS of projects I want to accomplish as well... but we'll see how that goes and how much I actually get done!

And speaking of the baby... I get to have another ultrasound on Monday!! Because we found out I have gestational diabetes we are doing one to see how big he is right now. And depending on how he's measuring we may have another at 36 weeks. The diabetes SUCKS, but I'm glad I get to see him again.

I thought I should take a minute and get some up to date info on here... I've completely slacked in my blogger duties. LOL.

Karli turned 2 yrs old back in February... I can't believe 2 years have gone by already, seems like just yesterday we were going home from the hospital. She can now say little over 50 words and can put a few together for small 3 word sentences. She is growing and learning so much. A few weeks ago she opened the fridge, grabbed the milk, handed it to me for a drink. After I filled her cup she put it back in the fridge. She loves baby dolls, coloring, playing in dirt, swinging and just being outside.

Back in October I made a job change. After being with Intermountain Financial Advisors for almost 5 years I decided to take a job in Tooele working for Salt Lake Community Action. I work in the HEAT program, assisting people in applying for help with utility bills. It's a stressful job, and I can't say I love the actual job part, but I love being in Tooele. I get to go home for lunch and see Nate and Karli and I only have to drive a minute to get to work!! It's great!

On November 2nd my amazing grandmother passed away at the age of 91. It was really hard to see her pass on, but I know she is so much happier in heaven with her son, husband, parents and grandfather who she loved so very much. We keep her alive in our hearts and minds all the time when we recall something she used to do. Amazing how many times I say the words "my grandma used to do ___" or "my grandma used to say___". I do regret not spending more time with her when I had the chance to, but I know she knew how much I loved her.

The day we put my grandma in the ground Nate and I found out that we would be having another a baby!! :) Not sure how it always works that a grandmother has to pass for us to conceive, but so has been the pattern. In February we found out that our little bundle of joy is a BOY!! We are so excited to have the perfect little family that we have always wanted together!! So now I'm just dealing with all the pregnancy "fun". We will have our little one in our arms at the end of June and I cannot wait!! Karli is going to be such a big helper, but I worry there might be a little jealousy along the way. Fingers crossed I can stay sane as I spend my evenings alone with 2 kids!!

And that is life as we know it as of April 10... I will do my best to be better at updating. :)

Talking... ish!

Karli has started to say a few more words a little more clearly. She can say; hi, hey, um, uh-oh, and mom. She has said kitty and grandpa, but those have been a one time things so far. It's SO much fun listening to her talk, she has started being more vocal when she wants something too, she'll point and grunt.

Nate thought this was hilarious... over the weekend I was in the laundry room and Karli was standing in the doorway looking right at me... Karli~ "Mom." Me ~ "What honey?". Karli ~ "Mom." Me ~ "what?". Karli~ "Mom"... and at this point she takes off 'running' down the hall. Lol.

I've been such a slacker at this blogging thing... really quick I just wanted to post this picture...
As soon as 13 months hit Karli started walking like it was no problem. She still has a few issues with the shoes in the picture, but she does really well maneuvering all over the house.

Already a year... (cont.)

I almost forgot one of the most important things... she is learning to walk and is doing really well. She can cruise around the house really well. She is getting braver when it comes to walking without having to hold on to something, today she walked from our couch to our chair, which is across our living room. Such a big girl!

Another funny thing she did... the other day she wanted to look out of the window, so I pulled up the blinds and stood her up in the windowsill. Our couch is right in front of the window so the other day she was playing on the couch with me and she climbed to the top of the couch swung her feet over the top and stood up all on her own. Then when she wanted down she bent over the side and lifted her feet up. :)

Already a year...

Well since Karli has been 1 for a few weeks I figure I better post a few new things she has learned in the past few months.
  • She now knows the word "um". She'll be talking and she'll say it between every couple of grunts later. When I asked Nate who she got that from he informed me that it was me, I had not realized how often I said "Um". Lol.
  • She is very observant... she knows to put the phone to her ear and talk, point the remote at the tv to make it work, toothbrush goes in your mouth, fry goes into sauce then into mouth, and socks/shoes go on feet.
  • She is starting to brave this "walking" thing. She has walked 4 steps and Nate just let me know she walked across our living room. It won't be long now. Lol.
  • She throws the cutest tantrums... lays on the ground flat on her stomach and cries... not the most fun thing to experience, but its dang cute.
  • She points at everything and then will look to you to know what it is.
  • She knows to pull the little tabs in books that have a picture hidden behind them.
  • She can drink from a cup with a straw, but she can also do it with just the cup.
Those are just a few things, she is such a joy to Nate and I. We are truly blessed to have her as a part of our little family.
