Short Update

Just thought I'd give a short update on the pregnancy... Sunday we will reach our 36th week. Which means we will be only one week away from "term". We had to have a ultrasound done last week b/c I was measuring a little bigger than I was supposed to be. They checked the babies weight and the fluid surrounding her. She weighs 5 lb 11 oz as of last Friday. Which is only 10 oz smaller than when Nate was born, but 3 lbs smaller than when I was. So I think she still has a ways to go. We got to see the top of her head (I know now why I hurt by my 'groin') and her lungs/heart beat. It all looks good. The tech thinks either the baby is long or b/c she hasn't dropped all the way yet that is why I was measuring big. We had a doc appointment later that day and I measured right on, so I'm thinking she had a growth spurt. I go now to the doctor once a week until we deliver.

I'm still not tired of being pregnant, although this week it continuely feels like she is trying to push through my belly button and that pain is getting old. After the 31st of January she can come at any time. :) I just want to make sure she is healthy before she greets us. :)

Child Prep Class

So over the weekend Nate and I (and my mom) went to a child preparation class. Friday night from 7-9 Nate and I were there. We skimmed over breathing techniques and coping and a few other things. The best part of the evening was when Nate got to wear the empathy belly. Lol. He was such a good sport and wore it most the time we were there. He did mention that when he sat down the belly sat right on his nuts, so he spent a lot of the time standing up. Lol.

Nate had to work on Saturday so he was not able to come to the class with me, so my mom came. It was fun having her there with me going over all the stuff we talked about. I am really glad we took the class. It gave me a lot of great information and helped me get a little more excited for the delivery. :)

Movement!

So on Friday afternoon at work I FINALLY felt Karli move or at least more than just a flutter here or there. It was such an amazingly weird feeling! And I have continued to feel it every so often since then. I am so happy to finally feel her! :)

We'll be coming into the third trimester the week of Thanksgiving. I really cannot believe how fast this is going. She is going to be here before I know it. We got the nursery all finished and got carpet on the 24th of October. I'm so jealous she has new carpet in her room. Then last Sunday my family came out for FHE and my mom brought the bedding stuff as long as a few things for the room ie: garbage can, night light, extra pillow, rug, and wall clings. The room looks so cute. Our little girl is going to be very spoiled. Lol.

Nursery

Nate and I spent the night Saturday painting our nursery. We went to Home Depot to get the paint and ended up have a little argue about how we were painting the room... he did not like my original idea and was not bending to it, which I'm very greatful he didn't b/c how he wanted (which is the way we went) looks a lot better than what I had originally imagined. :) It was a very fun night doing that together. We will be getting new carpet in the room as well in the next few weeks and getting things to decorate with. I am so, so excited!! Then we can get the crib up and get to putting things away. :) YAY!!

Here is what the room looks like:

We are filling in the white stripes with a very light purple, lighter than the color above the stripes. :)

IT'S A GIRL!!!

Last Wednesday Nate and I found out that we are going to be blessed with a little girl!! Nate had a rough time with the news at first, but is coming around to the idea. :) Once he sees her his heart is going to melt. I cannot wait to get to shopping and getting the room ready for her.

16 weeks

Well we have been in the 2nd trimester for 2 weeks now, and I'm liking it a lot more. I still get nauseous on occassion but it is nothing like it used to be. And although I am still VERY tired I don't know that that is going to change. Also my feet have been swollen since we found out we were pregnant and still to this day look like little hams with toes. I've started going walking a few nights a week with my mother in law and cousin. I am sure it will be good for me and the baby once it is finally here, but boy oh boy am I tired when I get home to my couch.

Last Saturday me, my mom, and Lucy (mother in law) went shopping for maternity clothes. (On the 22nd of August we had a family reunion at my mom's and I wanted to wear my levi jeans... well I was able to get them up, but not buttoned so I got a rubberband and put it thru the button hole and around the button... lol.. I showed my mom and her exact words were "We need to get you some pants that fit") So we went to two DI's and to Motherhood. We did really well at the DI found lots of shirts, a levi skirt, some jackets, 2 pair of pants, and 2 sets of jammies. Most of the levi's I tried on there were too tight now so I knew they wouldn't fit in the next month or so. So at Motherhood I got 3 pairs of pants and a few more shirts and a belly brace!! I praise whomever came up with this amazing device!! My ligaments have hurt from day 1 from strecthing and all the growing going on... and it has made it hard to walk around some days. And the brace helps to support my belly so that I'm not having all that weight weighing down on me. It was a very productive day, and by the end of it my hip hurt so bad, I went home and sat on the couch and literally couldn't get up. Lol.

We went to see our doctor on the 26th of August, and we got the order for our ultrasound so I called that day and made our appointment for the 23rd of September!! Crossing my fingers the baby cooperates and lets us see what we will be having!! :)
